This image of Tubarose was shot in my home when I lived in Santa Barbara after a trip to their lovely farmers market. I used the diffused quality of late evening window light, and positioned the flowers to the left of the window; this gives a nice lighting direction on the flowers. Evening window light in a home can be quite dim, so I use a tripod to accommodate the slower shutter speeds. My curtains are a dark green, and I positioned them to fall about five feet behind the flowers giving a nice clean black background.
